Extend service life of machine components in the iron and steel industry

A smelting works, often also called iron and steel works or foundry, is a plant for producing iron and/or steel from iron ore. These are usually industrial plants in Europe today.

The basic materials for manufacturing pig-iron are iron ore and coke. The preparation is made using floatation or magnetic separation. The ore is crushed. Oxidize iron ores are reduced with carbon and pig-iron is produced which is a brittle material due to the high carbon content and softens when heated within a small temperature range. Obtaining the pig-iron is mainly done in blast furnaces.

Components of machines installed in these areas suffer significant wear.

We make a thorough analysis of your wear problem, prepare a verified diagnosis and develop proposals for improving the parts which are subject to wear. We then work with you to select the VAUTID material which will best ensure these parts have an extended service life, from significantly increased resistance to wear, corrosion or heat. Everything is focused on reducing your wear costs.
