Fagus-GreCon Greten GmbH & Co. KG is the inventor and global pioneer of industrial spark detection and extinguishing systems.
Introduced in 1973, GreCon’s first spark detection system was specifically developed to prevent fires and dust explosions in industries handling combustible materials — including wood, metal, paper, rubber processing, food production, textiles, animal feed, biomass, and recycling.
The GreCon Spark Detection & Extinguishing System quickly became the industry benchmark, capable of detecting sparks and glowing particles in ducts and automatically extinguishing them before they reach filters, silos, or other critical equipment.

Not every sensor is suitable for every environment – extreme heat, long distances or areas that are difficult to access place special demands on detection. For such cases, the GreCon product range offers suitable solutions such as thermal imaging cameras for monitoring piles of bulk material, fibre optic systems for high temperatures or special thermal and explosion detectors.
GreCon DLD 1/9 Spark Detector
Best performance in any environment
The DLD 1/9 is a highly sensitive detector for detecting sparks and hot particles. Its detection reliability is unaffected by interference from daylight or artificial lighting. Excellent detection performance for all ignition sources in any environment thanks to adaptive detection technology.
GreCon FM 1/8 Spark Detector
Best for dark conditions
The FM 1/8 is a highly sensitive spark and ember detector for protection against fire and explosion in industrial processes. The detector reacts to the infrared range of light radiated by an ignition source. It is designed to be used in an environment free from ambient light.
GreCon FM 3/8 Spark Detector
Best for high-temperature environment
The FM 3/8 is a highly sensitive spark and ember detector for protection against fire and explosion in industrial processes. It uses fibre optic cables to deal with high material temperatures (up to 500 °C) used in certain industrial processes. The detector reacts to the infrared range of light radiated by an ignition source. It is designed to be used in an environment free from ambient light.

The GreCon HUNTER series stands for high-precision, automated extinguishing of sparks and ignition sources – in milliseconds, using the finest water mist. At its heart is Intelligent Extinguishment Technology (GreCon IET®): Not only does it ensure effective extinguishing processes, it also enhances them with smart diagnostic functions and continuous system monitoring.

Not every process allows the use of water. In these cases, alternative measures are used, such as flushing with pipe diverters or shutting off with pipe shut-off valves or drop knife gates.

The GreCon IEM Module comes in four variations — IEM, IEM Pro, IEM Max, and IEM Max Plus.
The IEM Max Plus offers all the benefits - with parameters such as the detection of water flow, water flow pressure, micro-leaks, wear detection of nozzles and valves.
GreCon Diversion Gates Assembly
Divert Ignition Sources
Diversion gates are optional components of the GreCon Spark Extinguishing System designed to mechanically close transport ducts and redirect material flow into an alternate branch. They are primarily used in positive-pressure conveying lines and drop chutes, and are suitable for handling corrosive media as well as applications in the food industry.
The diversion gate is automatically released and reset via the system’s control console. An optional electrical actuator module is available to enable manual “open/close” operation when required.
GreCon Fire Traps Assembly
Stops Propagation of Fire
The fire trap is an optional component of the GreCon Spark Extinguishing System. In case of an alarm, the fire trap closes a transport duct mechanically. It mechanically seal transport channels and protect the downstream material flow from ignition.

GreCon RANGER Extension
Decentralised Control
In conjunction with MISSION CONTROL, GreCon RANGER represents a new type of decentralised control for preventive industrial fire protection measures. RANGER takes on the role of command centre directly on site.
The decentralised architecture reduces cabling costs by up to 80%, thereby lowering installation costs and creating the basis for future-proof system expansions through modern SPE (Single Pair Ethernet) cabling. All measures taken are reported back to MISSION CONTROL in real time – for maximum transparency, seamless tracking and centralised evaluation of all protection processes in the system.
