Live Bottom

SHW Live Bottom

Live bottom can be used for the reception area of bulk materials delivered externally in your plant. Bulk material can be brought in the further storage or transport process.

The equipment can also be used for the discharge of bulk materials from different types of silos.

Ideal unit for difficult to handle materials which are stored in rectangular silos. The material discharge frames are operated shifted and hydraulically driven.

  • The discharge frames, rigidly fabricated in steel, have grid dimensions of a width of max. 1.5 m and a length of 20 m. As many ladders as you like can be arranged side by side.
  • The ladders are manufactured of solid perfect material. Tensile forces of up to 100 t can be transferred.
  • The length of the stroke can be adjusted by the limit switch.
  • One or more discharge systems can be arranged at the front or centre.

Technical Drawing

Design Characteristics

  • Robust construction
  • Ladder type frame construction
  • Rectangular design

The live bottom consists of a ladder shaped discharge frame. The single discharge frames are moved back and forward by hydraulic cylinders. On the idle stroke the wedge-shaped staves slide under the bulk material and on working stroke they transport it into direction of the discharge system (screw, chain or belt conveyors).

The live bottom silo can be filled from above or made accessible for a truck or a front-end loader.

Discharge Capacity

50 - 600 m3/h per discharge screw

Advantages

  • Low life-cycle-costs
  • Optimum bulk material discharge
  • Easy to maintain
  • First in first out
