The disc screen consists of:
- Case frame, mostly divided
- The shafts with exchangeable screening discs arranged in series
- Chain drive
- One or more gear motors
In the event of a material change then the disc screen disc distances and the rotational speed can be changed to match the incoming material.
Design Characteristics
The total material flow will be in the direction of the oversized material outlet due to the rotation of the screening discs. During transport process, fine material flows between the screening discs and shafts.
The main part of the oversized material will be transported via the rotating discs to the oversized material outlet and carried off via a chute.
The screening will protect the down stream processing units against damages by oversized or tramp material. The disc screens should be arranged directly after the reception station if technically possible.
