Oscillating Frame

SHW Oscillating Frame

Oscillating frame can be used for the discharge of bulk materials from different types of silos.

With both rotating and oscillating movement, dry, difficult to handle bulk materials can be discharged very well.

Maximum options for optimum bulk material discharge:

Design Characteristics

  • Low space requirement, installation height 1,100 mm
  • Robust construction
  • Simple drive mechanism

The oscillating frame is considerably different from the conventional discharge systems. The star consisting of four segments is installed on the silo bottom and is pivot mounted in the centre using a large roller bearing. The star is driven oscillating by a geared motor which rotates the toothed bearing.

The whole silo bottom is activated; the bulk material will be transported into the installed screw troughs. As the oscillating frame is driven from the centre of the silo, saving space and at the same time the rotating angle can be chosen freely due to the electrical drive, different screw arrangements can be made. The rotating characteristics can be ideally adapted to the installed screws and the bulk material. The rotating movement produces a regular flow into the transport screw . Thus the well-known problem of separation between fine and oversized material in the silo is minimized.

Discharge Capacity

25 - 300 m3/h per discharge screw

Advantages

  • Low life-cycle-costs
  • Easy to maintain
  • Low wear
  • Simultaneous feeding of up to four discharge screws
  • Oscillating or rotating movement
  • Very good emptying
  • No channel flow in the silo since the whole silo bottom is activated
  • No compactions at the silo wall due to the eccentric motion of the frame
  • Low-maintenance, electro-mechanical drive
  • Several discharge screws can be arranged individually in the silo bottom
  • Low installed power and therefore low operation costs
  • High reliability
  • Optimum adaptation to the bulk material
  • Protects the integrity of the bulk material
  • High metering accuracy
  • High effective silo emptying down to a minimum material level in the silo
  • Low space requirement
  • Separation between fine and oversized material is minimized
  • Low-cost silo design
